Guess Who popped up on AC360.

The sad thing about it --- Lakin is tossing his career in the toilet with a nut-job attorney (backed by another nut-job attorney who has already been spanked in Federal court). Most likely Lakin will face "missing movement" charges for failure to report to Fort Campbell for deployment to Afghanistan - more serious that being AWOL but not meeting the level of desertion.

Popping up in the news media may thrill the Birther Crowd but probably not in his best career interest.

Between this guy and the guy that shot up Fort Hood my faith in Army officers, especially Army doctors, has been shaken.

Larkin, as a member of the US military has no right to decline to follow legitimate orders on some arbitrary external condition of his own choosing. Especially since those orders came from his immediate superiors and not Obama himself.

If Larkin persists in his stunts, the US military has two ways to go, either throw the bum out of the military or throw the bum out of the military with some totally dishonorable discharge attached so he loses all pension benefits and gets to serve time in the brig in addition.

I would rather hope that Larkin would simply resign from the military and not trouble the US military any further.

And if Larkin tries to take the issue up with the US courts, he may discover there are penalties for filing frivolous lawsuits.

But once out of the military Larkin would have the right to run for any political office he can otherwise meet the qualifications for, and then may discover he loses in a landslide.

I agree that Uncle Sugar would likely prefer a 'quiet' transition out of the service, maybe even under a general discharge.

But if he and his 'attorney' perpetuate their media tour (and noise) I suspect his chain of command is gonna make an example out of him.

Two unrelated incidents is going to poison the well of 10k+ officers? What is your line of work, exactly, that doesn't have its fair share of crazy outliers?

Pathetic. Obama is an American. He was born American. Anyone who denies that is a fool, and should be treated as such. A Lieutenant Colonel who refuses to deploy should be shot. Everyone knows this.
