I breathe through my mouth when I sleep because of an incident earlier in life.. I just can't use my nose for the life of me when my eyes are shut! Anyhow, I have strep, and it's killing my throat to dry it out every night so badly! Any tips? I can't really think of something that would help besides duct tape, but I've got to save that in case we invade Iraq...

There's a pressure point between your thumb and forefinger, right in the fleshy part between them. Give it a good amount of pressure (squeeze it between your other thumb and forefinger), and it is supposed to relieve things such as headache and sore throat. I've tried it before, and it seems to at least make you think that your throat is feeling better 😉

If you have strep, I believe that is a virus, and you need antibiotics.

Have someone look at your throat. If there are white spots, better see a doctor. If not, try the humidifier, and the salt water, both good advice.

PLEASE tell me you're not in med school. :Q

Antibiotics = remedy for bacterial infection.

NEVER use antibiotics for a virus; not only will it not help but the excessive use of antibiotics will reduce its effectiveness later on when you might actually need it.

Some doctors give out entec or other antibiotics for flus and colds simply because the average Joe will think that the doc isn't doing his/her job if no meds are prescribed.

However, you are right in that strep throat requires antibiotics, because it *is* a bacterial infection. 🙂
