I just got the Thrive today from Staples and during setup I couldn't get it to connect to my WiFi. During the initial setup at the Wifi part I put in my password and then let it sit. It just sat there trying to connect and then the screen blacked out since I had it off the AC power. I also tried through the settings and it jsut says obtaining IP and hangs there for over 15mins. My router is a Buffalo Airstation. Not quite sure what the issue is. Interest search hasn't yielded much. Any ideas?

Are you using WEP or WPA1 or 2? MAC filtering? If you disable your security entirely, does the tablet connect?

hmm works without WEP on.

Does that router support WPAx at all? You might be able to turn on logging on the router as well, and watch the Thrive attempt to connect, see if it logs anything, if you want to go that deep.

according to OP's link, it does support WPA

if you do try WPA, see if you can switch between TKIP and AES encryption. most devices support both but some may not.

AES worked, thanks.
