Inspired by a few other threads leading the OT boards. Just saw Thrice last night, was really good stuff. I guess Pelican opened them. I was eating dinner outside of Jannus Landing in St Pete and heard them. They are an all instrumental band, and were very talented. Circa Survive followed them, which I'm a big fan of.

Thrice did really well, they actually started a little earlier then we thought they would. They began with a few of their new slower songs and set up for their really good screamo stuff at the end. They did a 4 song encore. It was pretty nuts, the circle wasn't as core as I thought it would be though lol, too much emo, no one was really hard.

Aaron Gillespie from Underoath was in the crowd, he's from Clearwater originally, about half hour north of the venue. Good to see him there.

They're really talented. Their back in the day was dynamic and their lyrics were great, I think they were just undermined by the typical "I don't like the screaming every word thing". Now that they matured a little bit and started to mix singing with screaming its like they got a second wind with the fan base.

I haven't really been into them as much as I used to, but they're a talented group of guys. Their albums "Illusion of Safety" and "Artist in the Ambulance" I still like a lot and play occasionally. That riff at the end of "To Awake and Avenge the Dead"? Fuck yeah.

Yeah, the epitome of their work right there. That's what I think of when I think of Thrice.
