1st:
When I installed Windows 2000 Professional, I wanted to format my FAT32 drive to NTSF. I did this through the Windows 2000 installer... When it asked me how large of a partition I wanted, its maximum size it would let me enter was 8MB less than the full physical size of the hard drive. Was this 8MB for the temp install files? And would it be reclaimed in the partition later?

2nd:
The install took 1GB.. thats alot of somthing, could that be 'normal'?

3rd:
What version of DirectX does Win2k run with?

Thats it for the questions I can't answer myself (because I'm not at the computer at the moment)

The final 8MB is reserved for the OS. This space is used to store HD information concerning the partitions, etc. This space can not be recovered. BTW, it's only 8MB. :)

How lame is that.. oh well. I hope the 8MB is worth it...

(I have taken a drive down to .6MB free :) )
