Hi, I recently got a new system, and with an 8500LE 128mb. It's by some kind of third party. The label on the back says:

Radeon 8500LE DDR V/D/VO
P/N 1024-9149-2B-5A
S/N 241014395
PCB# 35-F149-GO-20

It's clocked at 250 Core and 200 RAM (Crappy! >.< ) and there's a jumper on it which can be used to switch between NTSC and PAL. Can anyone tell me which board this is and who built it?

My second question is what kind of ram does it use? The ram is not BGA packaged (Crappy again) and is labelled:

SAMSUNG 238
K4D28163HD-TC50

Does this mean 5.0ns? And how far do you think I could overclock this?

Third question is do you think I could flash the bios to the one that the built by ATI Radeon8500LE uses?

Thank you very much.

for ati8500LE questions, you may want to visit the rage forums . regarding overclocking, just dled Rage3dTweak or Powerstrip and just keep upping the clock until you start seeing artifacts in the sys2002 test. Since all cores are made by ati, you would definitely be able to OC the core 274.5. about the memory, it really depends on what type you're using, and some LE boards employ hardware locks that can be bypassed using the pencil trick to increase voltage to the memory. Again, the rage3d boards have all your answers :) Oh... and i doubt it could possibly be 5.0 ns. even for 200 mhz, that's pretty slow.

:eek: Well it's not a true ATI that's for sure. Here's what the clocks should be:

Rad8500LE=250/500
Rad8500=275/550

:( If you are at 250/400 (unless it's 250/200 SDR LOL) then you'll be VERY slow, a good 20% below most Rad8500LE cards. The writing on the chips would def suggest 5.0ns which technicly will go no higher than 200mhz SDR or 400mhz DDR. So you'll be lucky to even reach 275/440, most 8500LE come clocked at 250/500 and use 4.0ns or 3.6ns which are technicly good to 500mhz and 555mhz respectively and in practice often reach 550mhz and 600mhz type speeds. I'd suggest you just sell this turkey and be sure to check the clocks next time which is always wise as Radeons often vary in both clock speed and features by manu and even oem/bulk vs retail.
