Three options...which one is worth it?

If I explained the whole situation, it would get boring, so here's the short version:

option 1: get Pentium 200Mhz computer fixed up; also have to buy CDROM drive. $50+CDROM

option2:buy Pentium 350Mhz computer, could be a gateway. $150

option3: build cheapo (but modern!) gaming rig: $350, but probably more, plus shipping

this is for a cheap DSL LAN, for web surfing on two computers at once plus light gaming. I already have one computer , so choose one option
and please tell why it is worth it 😉

Thanks for any input.

Personal choice would be option 3. My older pentium board doesnt support more then 1x AGP. Even in light gaming you will probably want something with a little more power then that. Of course that would depend on the type of gaming you are planning on.

Build your own, although I fail to see the reason for spending $350 ("or more") on a custom-built machine but willing to only spend $150 on a Gateway.

Anyway, the first 2 are sorry-ass machines nowadays... You will be lucky to play OpenGL Doom2 on them 🙂 As for custom-build, if you go with a Duron and at least a GeForce2 MX, you should be able to get some 30+ fps...
