I have a z77x-ud5h. I tried using hdmi, dvi, and displayport for three separate monitors. No go.. Mind numbingly angry.

Question is.. Is this true? I've searched and I've come across the little disclaimer that basically says.. Yes, IVB supports 3x monitors.. As long as two of those monitors are connected via displayport. Well, what kind of royalty has a motherboard with 2x displayports?

So.. What is a simple solution, in terms of a graphics card that won't complicate things.. By the way.. I was trying to figure out where to post this. Motherboards, Video Cards, or CPU. My mind exploded. Only writing this with half a mind. So, yeah.. sorry about that.

DisplayPort is meant to be scalable, more than one monitor can be run on a single board connection. The simple solution is daisy-chain the DisplayPort with active connector(s). Two monitors must be connected by DP AND run on the same resolution. It's worth mentioning since you didn't say what monitors you were using.

I am running a mix of different monitors. All of them at 1920x1200 resolution. Only one supports DisplayPort. How does one go about daisy chaining? (Assuming I were to buy two more displayport equipped monitors). I don't see a displayport out on my displayport monitor (Asus PA248)

Also.. Thanks for the reply!
