Three HD 5870's at 1200/1225MHz

The link to the 3DMark verification is also in there. CPU ran at 5200MHz. We did some pretty sweet Vantage scores too. Problem is, after 1,35/1,375v, OCP kicks in and you can't go any higher. Hence a OCP-mod is needed to run at 1300MHz or higher.

This definately was one of the better days at the office ^^

We ran out of LN2 before we could run FC2. We'll, we really ran into some problems, and for some reason FC2 wouldn't run properly, and before we could, we ran out of LN2. Next time I definately will though.

You've been out of the loop a long time my friend.

Why didn't you do Vantage extreme scores?

No point in testing old software.

nice testing marc... hope you posted some benchmarks on crysis warhead or crysis...

well, never the less looks like that setup of yours is going to plow its way to every game...

Score at stock would be something like 150k? THere's a guy who ran the same benchmark with 3xHD5870's at stock, but with the cpu at 5126MHz, and he scored 160k.

Also, we did do Vantage, Performance scores. Those count for World Record, Extreme doesn't afaik.

Hopefully soon we get to use 4 vidcards 🙂

Congrats on the WR. It looks like you had a really good weekend. I can't wait to see your four card attempt.

So you overclocked GPU by over 40% (850->1200) and you got about 15% (160K->184K) improvement? Is it correct? If yes then I am not sure if 150K is a good estimate for the stock CPU and stock GPU. It seems the benchmark depends more on CPU. I would expect a lower number.

Probably a wrong estimate. I think 50MHz on the gpu's scores us 5k extra points. I'm planning on running 3DMark03 on a stock setup, but it won't be till thursday...

It sounds great. Please, let us know the result.

Were you able to get anywhere close to this on your setup? I noticed they got the core up to 1300 for this 4 card run. Are you having any luck getting there?

These scores won't go up on hwbot anytime soon, unless Intel decides to be weird and release gulftown january first instead of somewhere in 2010, which is there official release date as of now.

But no, we think we can do 43kish with 4 cards at that speed, but there's no way you can do 50k vantage with a quadcore core i7. Max stable 3d for current i7's is around 5500/5600MHz. 500MHz and 2 more cores makes a huge difference ... And our core i7 probably won't do 5500MHz, but more like 5200 ...
