Huh?

The bills mentioned in the top of the article are left wing "progressive" causes like tuition for illegal immigrants.

Tuition for illegals? Why? The only thing I'll pay for is the bus that takes them back OUT of the US. The hell...

I always said Brown will be best for cali if you check my posts and he's proving it. Guy is true. I may not agree with it all but he'll make tough choices and them back in balance.

this is actually good news for the rest of the country. california will now be a magnet for all the criminal border jumpers and will have a cleansing effect on all the other states. California will pass the point of no return under brown. Liberalism is a mental disorder.

On these two points:

another bill granting undocumented college students the ability to apply for state grants and financial aid. In addition, he banned most California residents from openly carrying unloaded handguns.

I strongly disagree with him. However, I'd still rather have him as governor than someone who only cares about the top 1%.

Republican Pres. Candidate/Governor of Texas Rick Perry feels the same way that the Dem Governor of California Jerry Brown does about it, so this legislation really is not a left wing "progressive" cause. It's more like a cause for Governors of states with very large latino constituencies that vote. ;)

"California Gov. Jerry Brown is vetoing legislation requiring police to obtain a court warrant to search the mobile phones of suspects at the time of any arrest.

The Sunday veto means that when police arrest anybody in the Golden State, they may search that person’s mobile phone — which in the digital age likely means the contents of persons’ e-mail, call records, text messages, photos, banking activity, cloud-storage services, and even where the phone has traveled"

http://www.wired.com/threatlevel/2011/10/warrantless-phone-searches/

Yeah, what a great guy.

Uh, I guess you better not provide the password to your email, cloud, photos, banking etc...etc... Matter of fact why don't you just put a password on the entire phone? I guess if you lose your phone or someone steals it they can drain your accounts, rob your home, check out your photos...

Sounds like you are worried about something?

no more open carry, douchebag.... although someone around here said that that point might make it easier to get a ccw.....

If they were to trade open carry for concealed, I'd shut up...but as it stands, it's now a no-carry state. They rarely issue CCWs. So much for the second amendment...the NRA and SEF will have a field day there, I guess.

Sad the illegal check to ensure the gun was unloaded was never taken to court as a violation of the 4th amendment.

I LOVE how people assume that since you don't invite the friggen cops in to search your home that you have somthing to hide. Go read the 4th amendment. It exists for a damn good reason. The law that he signed allowing searches is a direct violation of the 4th amendment. But of course the CA supreme court claims it's perfectly legit...but that's why it's called the left coast. Someone PLEASE go above the 9th circuit and to SCOTUS...

Did you even read my message? You of all people should know android phones have a lot of protection in them if they are lost or stolen.

Anyway, back to your jibberish. I kinda support the phone search. Most dealers have all their contacts and notes and what not in their phones. If we can get a few more creeps off the streets... I'm all for it!

If you got nothing to hide ... then why worry? Do you plan to be target by the police? If you plan to rob someone or do illegal activities then here is a Hint for ya... Don't carry your phone that day and you'll be protected!!!

I don't even own a smart phone, yeah I can check my email and crap on my phone but I don't.... I hardly ever go online with my phone even tho I have unlimited data plan. I use it mostly for a phone! I have no problem showing a cop my call directory. If they want to look at my email? No problem! Hack my account! I'm not going to provide passwords.

I should not have secure my belongings from my government. If you don't understand that something is wrong with you.

New rule, police are allowed to take your pants off. Don't like it? Wear underwear!

Legislation should not work this way.

Anyway, back to your jibberish. I kinda support the phone search.

Me too, but they need to get a warrant. If they don't have a enough probable cause for one, then they shouldn't be looking. There needs to be checks and balances.

Most dealers have all their contacts and notes and what not in their phones.

Maybe a highschool/college student slinging 3.5s out of his back pack, no one who moves any real weight uses their personal phone.

If you got nothing to hide ... then why worry?

Because historically speaking, trading freedom for security has never went well for citizens.

Wow,

SIGNED:
AB 131: Called the California Dream Act, it will allow undocumented college students to apply for public financial aid.

So the public is funding the education of illegal immigrants.

Come to US
Get education paid for
Go back to home country
Wipe butt with student loan agreement
Flush student loan agreement down toilet

And nobody seems to care.

Brown is a true blue far left progressive. That movement assumes that almost all people are unable to correctly make decisions about their own lives; instead, an enlightened government bureaucracy must make those decisions for you. Why on Earth would people who believe you are unable to provide your own health care, day care, etc. trust you with a firearm? Only the State's agents, on the State's business, deserve to be armed. (And of course the bodyguards of the important people, that goes without saying.)

Besides, a key tenant of progressive "thought" is that the individual is worthless and interchangeable; only the group has value. If you get murdered by some gang banger or junkie, there are plenty of people to replace you so that government doesn't suffer. Besides, that gang banger or junkie is worth just as much as you, if not more - why should the State allow you to take his life to possibly save your own?

This poor fool didn't even need to have his cell phone searched to get in trouble, but I bet they'll do a whole lot of searching after they discovered what was in his car.

Come on moonbeam, just because you like Gov. Brown doesn't mean you have to say you love or even agree with everything the guy does. It's OK to disagree with your Party sometimes.

Yes, liberalism is an evil and misanthropic ideology that espouses hatred of people. It's worse than fascism. So says werepossum, the authority on liberal philosophy.

LOL Case in POINT... I have not documented this yet, But Gov Brown just approved a bill this month I am told.....

signed another bill granting undocumented college students the ability to apply for state grants and financial aid.

Like I said, I have NOT verified, but I will not be surprised if true.

Anyone know if this is true?
