Three 24" monitors vs one 30" monitor?

anyone have experience with both? Never gone multi monitor before and with 24"'s getting cheap I am considering selling my current Dell 30" and going to three 24"'s

3x24" vs 1x30"?

(only for gaming use and web surfing)

Don't sell your 30" bro. You will miss it.

I use a 120Hz BenQ 24" next to my 30" Sammy just for those games that need the extra response.

Going from a 30" down to anything smaller is like going from a Bentley to a Ford.

You bring up response, do you REALLY notice it?

I mostly play FPS so that is kind of important...

I had this Sammy nearly three years and its been great. No worse than any other TN or IPS panel I had before it running at 60Hz in games.

120Hz is something else though and it us much more comfortable to play on and it feels just like a CRT. The picture quality next to the Sammy is crap though and if I could only choose one monitor it would be the Sammy without question. I wish the Sammy was 120Hz 🙁

If you have a 60Hz panel already and can only choose one; get the 30" NEC you have been looking at. It will be a lovely monitor. You can always hang a 120Hz off the wall in the future just like I did 😉

If your targeting reticle is in the center of the array then it would be between the bezel of the center two monitors....right?

You are right, I was wrong.
I recall seeing that some games will use the top row to display above the line of sight, it does not display anything below. The targeting reticule is in the center of the bottom middle monitor and the top monitors extends your vison upwards.
However it seems that not all games do that, some games will just have it in the middle and it will be covered by the bezel. This is a really big problem. So it might be a better idea to just not risk it.
