Threadripper Motherboard Memory

I am building a high end engineering workstation for a good friend and plan on using a Threadripper 2950W and likely an Asus motherboard. We plan on putting 128GB (8x12) DDR4 memory in it. I have never used this much memory in a system before and wonder if I might run into any compatibility or speed problems with good quality memory. He uses it for heavy number crunching with CFC software as well as other scientific software and simulations he writes. Any help about what experience anyone has had or problems is greatly appreciated.
