I posted a thread in Politics & News about the lack of updates in the 'Names of the Dead' thread since Obama was elected - it was deleted without explanation. It had been updated regularly since March of 2004, yet mysteriously no updates have been made since 11/01/08, just days before Obama was elected.

I find it absolutely disgraceful that just days before Memorial Day that ATPN's official stickied thread on the death of American soldiers has not been updated. I admit I called out Perknose on it because he was not only the poster who started the thread, but the staff member who locked it 6+ months ago saying it would be reopened when the trolling had been cleaned up.

Unless the troll posting was so bad that its taken over 6 months to complete the cleanup, I think its fair to say that the thread may have been a political one rather than the 'sacred ground' that it was labeled as.

jpeyton was the one of the last posters in the thread before it mysteriously disapeared. If he deleted it is that not a violation of the moderation rules?

I'd like an explanation as to why my post was deleted. I'm sorry it makes Anandtech staff look bad by pointing it out, but staff members started the thread, stickied the thread, labeled it sacred ground, updated it for 4.5 years, locked it, and chose not the reopen it since 11/01/2008.

As I said in that thread...   Anandtech. This was an official stickied thread thats been completely ignored.

It was a troll thread and it was removed. I have sent you a PM regarding this.

If you truly wanted to know, all you had to do was one of two things.

1) Send a PM to the mod account and we would have looked into it.
2) Actually PM the OP of the thread, Perknose and ask him.

You decided to post a troll thread instead. Hope that clears this PFI thread for you. It's locked.

Thanks for the unlock esquared.. having it closed with Memorial Day coming up would not be appropriate. God Bless our troops.
