Thread locking question

When a thread is locked, why can't an administrator/moderator put a little note as to why it's locked? It would be helpful in preventing lockable threads in the future. Thanks.

that's a vacation for yoo.

anyway mods usually make bold comments at the end of other people's posts. or, they feel that the reason for the lock is either so boneheaded or so obvious that they dont feel the need to write anything.

Yours was in the wrong forum, btw, I think - post it in software/apps/etc

How is "Off Topic" the wrong forum for ANYTHING?
Because it was an On Topic question, thus it doesn't belong in the Off Topic section? 😕

[yoda]locked, this thread will be[/yoda]
if its a repost, or spam, or utterly pointless neffing, why comment on why its locked?

What's interesting is that I got two replies literally in seconds on my "Off Topic" thread, yet I have nothing on the "Software" version of the thread after several minutes. I'm not impatient, but it's obvious that far more people read "Off Topic."
