Thread is Dead for now: Flash Card reader that supports SDHC cards

I went looking thru the Egg today after a card reader that supports SDHC cards. They didn't seem so common. I have no 3.5" bays left so I'll either need external or one of those compact ones that are like a thumb drive and plug directly into the USB port. Thanks.

Most of this type of reader/writer are external USB devices. I use three different ones. They all work. I carry one in my camera case - it is always available where ever I go, and I can use it on any handy computer. I have one connected to each desktop. Targus, SanDisk, Panasonic are all OK for SDHC as well as SD, etc.

If you have a Wal-Mart handy, you can check this out:

~$29 will get you 16GB Class 6, $3 more will get you the thumb driver converter that is decently fast. I can get about 12-14MB/sec writing on that particular card and reader.

they have similar packages with 8GB and 4GB cards for ~$18 and ~$10.25 respectively, however those ones don't claim free shipping

Thought I'd suggest this in case you wouldn't mind throwing in another stick to your collection and don't really need support for other formats.

I've made my move so this thread is dead for now. If the one I've ordered doesn't work out for some reason, I'll revive the thread.
