Thread for a Dummy???

I have a Linksys WRT54GS v.2 and WPC54GS v1.1. I want to set up these up so my wife will have use of the DSL connection on her laptop in the kitchen. I got it operating but with no security. Tried to set some but what ever I did took both my desktop and laptop off line. I have it all unpluged now and my desktop back online as before the Wireless.

Both computers XP Home and Intel P4 3.2G desktop, Intel Celeron 2.4 laptop. Bellsouth IP.

Is there a thread that tells a "Dummy" like me how to do it. The Linksys info "sucks" bigtime. For me anyway. It assumes I know all all their abreviations, acronyms etc.

Forget it. I spent the day on the phone with a Linksys guy from the far east that spoke english about as good as I Spanish but "we" got it done.
