Sadly, this guy is now likely marked for death by extremists in his own faith.

If you want to hear it from a non-religious person, that is the difference right there.

You might have some Christians who call other types of Christians misguided, or misinformed, or worst case they are "going to hell" for their incorrect views.

But I have yet to hear a faction say it would be supported by God to kill another faction for the way they believe, much less act out on that premise.
