Thousands and thousands of mosquito larvae on my front door

Our front porch light attracts a night time zoo of insects but tonight is different. The entire door and most of the roof above it is littered with baby mosquitos. I've never seen this before, not even a day before tonight. I'm in Ottawa and Westnile is a scare right now so its a bit off-setting to have them out there, growing.

It'll be funny when someone posts tomorrow that a guy was killed at his computer by being bitten by thousands of mosquitoes

Most houses have a back door.

Most houses have a back door.

Instead of spending the money on yet another door we opted for a better fire insurance plan

Oh man but I knew americans were morons.

Seriously though no offence to you U.S folk, just this guy.

Anyway I'm not sure what they are, they look very much like misquitos, the larvae would have to emerge from water at some point, no ? Would they be full size when they do ?

Your gutters might be clogged and great nest for all sorts of bugs to reside in.

That happened to me once except that it was a whole colony of ants. I suspect that there was a queen in the mix looking for a new nest, but I am not sure. It was really freaky.
