Its my husbands birthday in a couple of weeks and I am looking at getting him a 17" TFT LCD Flat Panel, so far I like the ViewSonic VE170.
Does anyone have one? If so what do you think of it?
If you have a different preference, why?
I would post this in video or GH but he reads both forums, and its supposed to be a surprise.

It depends on what apps he uses. I have a flat-panel at work and I love it. But I just use 2D programs there. I tried a DVD and there was motion blur as the response time is 50 ms (too slow for our eyes). Games would have the same problem with a monitor having a 50 ms response time.

If he just uses Office and the Web/email it is a good monitor.
 
Thanks TRP, I should have stated what he uses his pc for. He isnt a gamer, he mostly uses Satellite, GPS, science and Network apps, aside from web surfing ofcourse.
