Nice. I remember reading a very, very favorable review for the Areca RAID Controller on Hexus.net (I think) a few months ago. That thing made software RAID performance look like a joke and the Disk Throughput numbers were staggering.

I bet the 7950GT will be cheaper by December (assuming that's when you will be ordering all of this at once, with the Gigabyte 680i). Too bad there won't be a 8600GT out by then.

Maybe a little bit over the top on the case? a lian li full tower is probably a bit overkill... i'd look at a CM Stacker

Stackers won't work, because they have spaces between the drive bays, so the SATA enclsoure won't fit. And with this case, I'll be able to load up the SATA ports with hard drives as needed, up to 10 hard drives. I searched a long time for the case. :) The only concern I have with this case is if it is stable enough to handle the SATA enclosure fully loaded, as it gets heavy...

I would go with the x1950xt for the vid card. Aren't they supposed to be $270 when widely available?
Why not water cooling with all those fans?
