Thoughts on Tiger Woods 10 for 360 or PS3?

I've always been a big console and PC golf fan and played TW09 a few weeks ago. I enjoyed the new gameplay (compared to TW07) and thought about picking it up cheap.

However, found out that TW10 just came out a few weeks ago and the reviews look good. It's essentially the same gameplay as 09 but with more courses and some new secondary features. Downloaded the demo tonight off Live and it's a blast.

For those that have purchased or rented TW10, what are your thoughts? TW09 for $30 or TW10 for $60? I'm leaning toward this year's game -- hopefully, I might get it for Father's Day. 🙂

If you already had 09, I would say to just keep that, but since you don't have either right now I'll say to just go ahead and get 10.

if you hvae a ps3 i'd get hot shots golf. it's a much better golf game.

as for the comparison, 2010 is almost identical to 2009. it has slightly better graphics and some new putting mechanic, but since I use the 3 click putting mechanic i don't even care about the new method.

i have absolutely 0 desire to continue playing 2010 since you (as usual) start out w/a character who has 0 skills and have to build him up, which I already did in 2009 and it's done the same in 2010.

if you are worried about online i'd get 2010, but if not 2009.

If you have neither, I'd get TW10, since all the new online features sound great.

Regarding the Hot Shots Golf suggestion, if you have a PS3, be sure to rent it first. It's a very different golf game than Tiger Woods--basically the only similarity is that they are both golf games. Beyond that, they are very different animals. I personally didn't find anything fun about Hot Shots Golf 5 on the PS3 and sorely wish I would have rented it first (sold it within a week of buying). I think you have to like the whole japanese anime genre to really enjoy HSG, but that's my opinion.

hot shots has a much better golf/physics engine than tiger woods does, by a long shot.

tiger has a lot more content (character, courses, mini-games) but that is about it. tiger is such a simple golf game and is so easy. hot shots golf will test your skills and patience.

it is just hard for some people to get over the cutesy big headed characters they use, which I can understand because it looks like such a goofy/kiddy golf game.

and for the record, i can't stand anime.

EDIT: but he is right that not everyone will like hot shots cause it is a lot different than tiger.

Unfortunately, I don't have a PS3. I just mentioned that, as I figured TW10 was essentially the same on both consoles, and I wanted to get as much feedback as possible. If I did have a PS3, I'd definitely get HSG for it, though. 🙂

I picked Tee it Up Golf off XBLA, which is extremely simple and even more "kiddy looking" than HSG. I'm having a blast, though.
