This will be primarily for latest FPS gaming, poker and music. The price for this rig is NZ$2,871.25 = 2,242.00 USD which is pretty much the top of my budget.

I priced the components seperately and they came to approx $2600 to build myself but as I have never built a P.C before I am happy to spend the extra and get a fully put together system with a 2 year warranty.

I also configured a Dell xps420 close to the specs below and it came to around $2450 but I am unsure of Dells as far as upgrading goes and they only come with a 375watt PSU over here even after upgrading to a 8800gt GPU.

Anyway this is the system I have put together.....

CPU... Intel Core 2 Quad Q6600 2.4GHz 2x4Mb 1066MHZ Quad Core
Motherboard... Asustek Core 2 Duo P5K-E wifi Intel P35 Chipset, DDR2, LGA 775
Memory... SuperTalent 4GB (2x2GB) DDR2-800 PC6400 5-5-5-15
Hard Disk... Seagate Barracuda (500GB) 7200.11. 32MB SATA II
Optical Disk... Pioneer DVR-212 18X SATA DVD Burner black OEM
Video Adapter... MSI nVidia Geforce G92 8800GTS 512MB T2D512E-OC Overclocked
Sound Card... On-Board
Case... Antec P182 Advanced Super Mid Tower (Gun metal black)
Power Supply... Corsair 520W HX Modular Power Supply
Monitor... AOC 210V 22" 5ms
O S... MICROSOFT Windows Vista Home Premium OEM 64BIT DVD English

This is probably a stupid question but will this be O.K for gaming for the next few years, I usually have about 4-5 years between new P.C's so will this be O.K for that long.

CPU - C2Q isn't worthwhile for gaming (as of now). Get a E8400 if you want the best, or a E2*** or E4*** and overclock it, possibly with an aftermarket cooler.
Memory - Nothing against SuperTalent, but check around for low prices, memory is cheap these days.
Video Card - Don't need a factory OCed version, it's something you can do (safely) on your own with some research. Unless it's on sale, just get a normal one.
Power Supply - 520HX is fine, but the 450VX is probably a little cheaper if you want to save some money.

The rig should give you top notch performance for the next 2 years, and should easily last 4 years, with the exception of the video card, but video cards usually become obsolete after 2-3 years.
