I've been looking for a car recently and came across this '89 240sx selling for $1200 US. The car also comes with a stereo system. I was rather suspicious as you definately don't see 240s selling for that cheap usually. They usually sell for $2500 or more.
However, today I went to visually inspect the car (owner wasn't there), and it's a white 240sx with maybe one or two spots of rust - that's it! There didn't seem to be any rust on the underbody. The interior looks clean and the car appears to have some sort of digital speedo which projects onto the windshield. The film on the windshield is starting to bubble and it looks like the car got into some sort of accident because the front bumper looks somewhat crooked - it's off by a couple of inches. The guy told me that the front bearings and tierods need to be changed - I suppose that's related to it? Anyways, it does seem like a really sweet deal even with those repairs.. I'm going to try to meet him tomorrow and get the car inspected, also get the VIN and carfax that I guess. What do you guys think? How expensive would tierods and bearings be because I have no idea?
