I like the looks of it. However, it doesn't get good reviews in Consumer Reports. Gas mileage is abysmal.

a friend of mine calls his the SeXterra ... I don't think it's working for him though.

the new ones are pretty nice since they bumped the horsepower significantly

It's got a cult following among young & outdoor oriented adults. It's a pretty capable small/midsize SUV. New model of it is a little bit bigger in dimensions and a whole lot more meaty under the hood.

Biggest downfalls are small back seat and as mentioned, pretty rough milage. If you do a lot of hiking/camping/biking that require something a little more offroad worthy it's a good pick.

I like it. Several of my friends in NO have them. Enough offroad capability to do some basic mudding, which is all I would do with a newer vehicle anyways.

I was expecting to come in to this thread seeing pics of Nissan Dealerships, the plant where Xterra's are made, some tourist attractions near the Nissan plant, etc. Basically, pics of everything but said Xterra.

The only Nissan SUV I don't dislike is the Armada, but that thing is a bit too huge for my needs.

It's an indestructible, all-around capable off-road truck based SUV.
Other than the gas mileage, it gets a
The new ones have a ton of power.

I have to poop now...and it's not indestructible, it's not a capable off-road anything...I wheel, I know what you can and can't do...give me a stock 80's jeep, and I could out wheel an Xterra.

Don't say indestructible...when you have IFS...your the farthest from it

It just looks like it can off-road...with all its plastic garbage stuck to it

I drive a jeep so lets get that outta the way first..

Here is the reason I dont like them...

They seem to me the result of a think tank sitting down and saying "Lets make something X-TREME!" Oh man, now it can have this, and how about a first aid kit, oh man how about the name X-TERRA! We can make it YELLOW! OMG AIIIIIEEEEEYYAAAAH!

I have a 2000 Xterra. Still going strong. No major issues. Yes the gas milage sucks.

I've taken mine off road. And by that I mean real off roading. Not I drove down a gravel road in my truck. It very capable. No it not a jeep. But then again I can sleep in my X and carry a lot more stuff. Try that with a jeep.

I like the old style better then the just released one. Then again it's growing on me. Would I get another one? No but only because of the price of gas. My next truck will probably be a car. Then again who knows. I love my X so much that I'm willing to put up with paying for gas for now.
