I'm looking for a small video camera to use while traveling. I was thinking about saving for a Canon HF100, but the MinoHD would definitely be more convenient, as I could carry it in my pocket.

Just curious what you think of it - whether it's worth buying now or if there are better options around the corner. Thanks

I've seen stupid amounts of these things at concerts and parties lately, at this rate I'm expecting them to become the 'iPod' of the Youtube crowd.

My local circuit City had a non-HD one on display that I played with at lunch today actually - the simplicity of the device and boot speed were impressive, though I obviously can't say how the video quality is once off the device.

The last time I bought a camcorder I looked on Youtube for videos taken with it (just search the model name), just to get an idea of the quality (as much as possible, seeing as how Youtube quality is already downgraded).

If you look on the New York Times web site David Pogue has a Video blog just out featuring it,
Looks better than I expected Link

I've been using the MinoHD for about a week now. Great quality video for the size... Only downside is mine started freezing up 1-2x a day. They are replacing it.

Nice post. I forgot about this little camera. I was going to look for a Canon TX-1 on sale, but I think I am sold on this.

Sigh, if only MS Cashback was still around. I'm having trouble justifying any purchases recently in the hopes of it coming back :(
