Thoughts on the Celebrity Poker Showdown

I know it is in reruns now, but I am watching the last episode of CPS before the championship round.

Scott Stapp from Creed might be the stupidest, most arrogant person on the planet. Coolio is a distant second.

I love to contradict people, but nothing you said is even debatable. 😉

I couldn't even watch the episode with Stapp. When he started whining about "You guys don't believe I have good cards 🙁 🙁 🙁" when he got called I wanted to punch him through the TV.

terrible show....

most of the players dont seem to know how to play..... uhg..

I tend to agree it is not as satisfying as watching the pros, but some of the celebs seem to have some skills. Stapp, though, was just astoundingly incompetent, and simultanously full of himself - he is really an extraordinary asshole.

I especially liked the way he kept questioning the referee when he was told he lost a hand, and the way he kept up the arrogant bluster after having his ass handed to him. I only wish they were playing to the death (though I guess his career is already dead).

nicole sullivan from mad tv had everyone fooled. i give her credit. she knew what she was doing all along, and she used her skills to draw everyone in. even in the last episode, everyone in the losers lounge picked david cross (who btw, i think is a very very funny person) because they thought nicole sullivan was just pulling out every lucky stop. but she was betting nicely and played her cards well at the end, and she deserved the victory imo.

edit: and yes, stapp is an idiot and has no business anywhere near a poker table. your 15 minutes were up years ago, please exit stage left.

Well, you can at least take solace in knowing that Creed is a really crappy band.

WTF was up with Scott? Why the hell did he even sign up? what a maroon, what an ignoramus.

Honestly, I think it's because he believes he's a god who could not possibly fail or lose. That's how ridiculously inflated his ego is. The look of utter surprise on his face upon finding that he didn't win a hand with a pair of 6's speaks for itself.

Apparently he thinks the rules of life say that he should win all of the time. 😛

Well put. I was just stunned by his arrogance during his introductory pre-interview - "I have never lost at anything." What a prick. You wouldn't think that a brief, successful career leading a Christian-rock-band-turned-Pearl-Jam-ripoff would turn a person into such an absurd egomaniac.

I know people will hate me for this but i have to say it...
I thought nicole would win...but...

its a shame that $100,000 is going to an animal charity now let me explain why before you go PC on my @ss
every other charity would have gone to a much needed human charity; furthermore, how many cats can a "small organization", as nicole put it, spade and nuter. I just feel that the money would have been better spent in the other charities. I love animals and believe that animal cruelity should be punished much more severly than it currently is, but i believe that humans should be helped before animals. Now thats my opinion so call me what you will but think about.

FYI she deserved to win--because she out played them (sure catching that straight--the one where she needed a queen and a king on the turn and the river--was pure luck be she was the chip leader at that time so she still could have won even if she lost that hand)

Wahahaha! Reminds me of the MadTV skit where The Calling is singing.. then Creed steps in and starts singing cuz they think they came first with the voice.. then Peal Jam starts in and they all start pushing and shoving each other for copying each other. 😀 If anybody have a cap of that, I'd love to have it!

Watch what you say about that Creed guy. I hear he has god on his side. David Cross was a let down, should have been much funnier, although I met him once and he didn't say one funny thing. I thought the show was entertaining, but extremely frustrating to watch the people who had no idea what they were doing.
