long story short, we're in the market for a new mattress.
the wife wakes up with a backache every morning and i can no longer hold off on buying a new mattress set.
so we start with the usual trips to a couple of mattress places and i think my wife is in love with the sealy posturepedic trueform all foam mattresses.
some ppl like them and some people don't.
i understand it conforms to your body and also generated a fair amount of heat.
my question is, will it still be going after 7-8 yrs? or breakdown like our current set.
what are some of the other advantages of them?
disadvantages?
i'm shocked at some (most) of the mattress prices.......a good one is in 4 figures!!!
i guess inflation is for real and a sticker shock is in order when you haven't shopped for one in 7-8 yrs.
the good news about the sealy ones is that they only have 3 models.
a 8" incher which is firm. a 9" which is semi-firm and a 11" which is soft.
also, unlike the spring mattresses, sealy does not change the name of the product line to prohibit price matches and price comparison.
so, i prefer the 9" and my wife prefers the 8".
i'm sure we will arrive at an acceptable solution (namely, buying the 8").
so is there any wriggle room in price negotiations?
any authorized online dealers since I know the exact mattress to get?
right now, we were quoted $1300 for a 8" and $1600 for the 9".
aha, king size though!
didn't realise mattress shopping was such an engaging chore.....
so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
