Thoughts on Refurbished Stuff? (IBM)

There are some great deals on Ebay for factory sealed IBM laptops with 1 year warranties. What are your thoughts on refurbished stuff.

I would like to hear any and all opinions. Good vs Bad? Warranty stuff? How bad is used computer stuff really? Help me out!

Personally I have no problems with refurbished stuff, as long as its quite a bit cheaper than new. And if it has a 1 year warrenty I wouldnt worry about it too much.

If it is for personal use without the possiblity for resale, then I have no problem, generally, wityh the exception of moving parts like HDs, if it doesn't fail in the first year, it won't/ So for my own uses, no problems with demos/refurbs. But if you thin ou might sell it when you are ready for an upgrade or no onger need it, then buy new... better resale value. And the last post had a good point, only if it has a large enough difference between the prices... sometime you get a lot, other times you don't.

You should make sure the individual offering the 1 yr warranty will be there for you when you need it.
