The Iwill one of the best of that generation of mobos - KT133, right! How much you paying? But unless you have a real need for technology that old (5 generations of chipsets not counting substeps), I'd suggest picking up something newer like KT600. Keep your eye on newegg'g refurb section or ForSale/ Trade forum sections. I picked up some Asus A7V600-X there for $30. each shipped but they came neked ;) . I had to talk Asus out of some I/O shields for them and that took a month...

i'm getting it for about 25$shipped. some cables and what not. well i really needed a board that works on SD ram. i have 5 sticks of it. so yea seeing as how most board's have 2-3 slots. this makes me pretty happy. anyone wanna give some more input on this.

either the KK266 or an MSI K7T Turbo limited edition.
the Asus A7V133 is solid too, got one at work and it runs EXTREMELY stable. as does the MSI!

If you are looking for an SDRAM based board I'd suggest something based on the Sis 735 chipset like the ECS K7S5A it performs alot better than the Via SDRAM boards.

The MSI KT2 Combo L has a KT266a and an 8325 south (so it has nice stuff like ATA133 and USB 2, etc.). It runs either SDRAM or DDR. The MSI KM2M Combo L also could run either type of RAM.
. They are quite hard to find new and run over $50 when you can find one. Quite a few used ones on eBay or For Sale/Trade sections. Unfortunately I just sold my KT2 - it was a really nice puppy. And I sold my KM2M a while before that..

I built one about 3+ years ago and sold it to a friend. It has survived 2 teenage girls so far and it still cranks like new. It has been a perfect board since first boot.

This board is great, been using it for about 3-4 years and it still hasn't failed on me yet. extremely stable and built well. I've actuallyed dropped my heavy enermax PSU on it and it still runs fine.

I recommend puting some paste on the northbridge. Mine came with none and it had some problems while overclocked.

I still use a KK266+. It's a great board. One of the best of its generation.

The northbridge is the main chip of the chipset usually located nearest to the CPU. MW was just saying that the heatsink on it either had no heat sink compound on it or it was inadequate. So check yours and clean an replace the compound.
