I have not had a Gigabyte board since some systems I built for some K6's and Pentiums.
This new board looks very interesting.
How is Gigabyte quality, support, and BIOS revsiions/fixes these days?
I have been using ASUS boards for last three years.

Final questions-

The onboard RAID controller appears to act as another ATA 133 controller if you do not use a RAID setup.
Is this correct?
Where is best place to buy Gigabyte/CPU/Ram bundle if I go that route?

Thanks.

I've been looking for info on this board too, but I haven't found any reviews. In fact I haven't found anything but old CeBIT 2002 photos.

Based on prior Anandtech reviews Gigabyte seems to be making either top of the line, feature loaded motherboards for overclocking or stripped down basic models. Judging by what they list on their web site I'm guessing that this board will be the former rather than the later.

In either case, I can't find anyone who is actually selling them yet.

Thanks for the reply. It looks like it has everything you would want including the newer Southbridge.
More features than the competing ASUS model right now.
I am just so sold on ASUS that I want to make sure making a switch will be the same
quality and stability.
I guess I will look for reviews.

The only problem is that I can't find the GA-8IHXP anywhere. I don't think any retail channels have it yet.
