Please read my third post in this thread for clarification.

Wow, I am surprised at the immaturity of this forum.

I didn't throw a hissy fit. I don't know how you came up with that. Please first read my posts before making assumptions of how I behaved.

Okay, this thread has just degraded in a flame war, and I can see it is not wise to engage anymore in this.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts.

they also have another advantage against tiny pc stores, they stay open till 10, cept for sunday when its 9.

Really, I didn't know that. A late night run for PC parts is the epitome of geekiness. Count me in. :)

hah yea:) they have stuff other major stores don't carry, like bulk batteries and stuff, 100aa for 19 bucks....:p niteize accessories for magiltes, target and walmart only sell the led upgrade bulbs, not the holsters and stuff. and for decent prices too, online with shipping it woulnd't be worth bothering with.

In addition to being a computer geek, I am also into photography and flashlights. So, yeah, their flashlight selection is nice. I like that they carry Streamlight and Pelican lights. That is not too common in non-specialized stores. But did you notice they don't carry Surefires. I wonder why?

probably too expensive i guess, i don't have any surefires so i'm not sure on the price range, i've seen them from 60-300+. best i have is a niteize tail switch modded 3aa led maglite. just gotta cut off 1/4" of aluminum rod from hardware store to use as spacer:p

OP. when I worked retail, you are the customer we would all laugh at after you left. You somehow think you deserve to bend the rules. Sales are put on certain days to draw people into the store to generate traffic on slow days or to try to spur a ton of sales(christmas)...not because your sorry ass drove 2.5 hours.

You sure taught them a lesson by not buying their products for the sale price! Think of that 5% profit they could have made!

you obviously don't understand sales and customer service! at my best buy store we are very flexible with sales like that. we take care of customers other stores wont even take care of.

heh i owned a business for years. so yes i do understand sales and costomer service.

while many places will honor it you should never expect it. then to have a fit about it (and i do consider leaving the store without other stuff he planned to purchase a fit) and leave is immature.

Waggy, I did not quote your post, thus i was not talking to you. Sure the customer should not expect it, but like the OP said, that is how you make customer for life. If you ran the sale once, you can do it again.

Dude, if they had honored the discount AFTER it had expired, it would have been awesome customer service.
But the fact that they didn't doesn't mean they have horrible customer service. They just followed the rules.

I live in Alpharetta so you're either talking about that one or the Duluth one.

I always say whenever I'm about to ask someone a question there, "let me go have someone tell me they don't know"

It's a given, every question I've asked gets that reply.

As long as you can find it on your own, you're fine.

Of all places you SHOULDN'T mention with the word "Customer service" you name Best Buy...Most employees have no idea what they are talking about.

And I think I do understand customer service. I would look up prices from other stores on the computer we had to try to give the customer the lowest price IF THEY WERE a good customer...aka nice and courteous. If a customer is mean and arrogant then I won't go out of my way to accommodate them. I just want them out of the store.

Just a lesson, be nice to employees and you will likely get more out of them then if you make demands. But, you have to be accepting if a manager refuses to honor the old sale price...after all you are asking them to bend the rules.

You get denied a sale that you are not entitled to...and then come bitch about it on a forum expecting sympathy. Sorry dude, you won't get any
