I've been meaning to get something like these a long time, some of the things the wife has bought over the years seem to absorb microwaves etc over the years and seem badly glazed, etc.

I have always bought wither Pyrex or Anchor Hocking for storage things myself, she went into a Neighborhood Walmart and saw these and I had here go buy two sets at $15 a pop.

I just like eating on non colored clean things myself that are more like lab equipment, I guess she said they even had square sets, but round is usually sturdier physics wise or might have tried those out.

Even if there is a pack of Marlboro in one pick.

There is still the fancy gold embossed ones we get out for special occassions, but these looked pretty good day to day.

I validate your choice of purchase. I wish you a long, happy relationship with your new dishes.

Personally, I buy my dinnerware at restaurant supply stores. It's super cheap and tough as hell.

Yeah sorry, I guess it's not like a CPU upgrade.

For new I like FiestaWare. I personally use a Pfaltzgraff pattern that's no longer made. I pick up pieces as they turn up in thrift shops. I have enough of most things, and a shit ton of coffee cups/saucers I don't have much use for :^D

Edit:
This is the pattern I have...

Pfaltzgraf used to be great, even after they first moved production to China.

Unfortunealy their quality control has gone way downhill. I purchased 2 extra serving bowls and a place set (plate, salad plate, bowl) and 4 of the 5 pieces had visible flaws.

After this thread came up, I did a little reading on Pfaltzgraff patterns, and that looked like a common complaint. My mother got a Chinese utensil holder to match her Yorktown pattern dinnerware, and it's noticeably cheaper. There's nothing functionally wrong with it, but it doesn't have the same weight, or fineness of pattern. It just looks cheap.

Yeah we even have some Flo Blue and various things around the house, I just wanted to get something for everyday that seems practical.

My wife does all of the cooking and buys all the dinner & cookware. I personally have no problem eating off of paper plates, using microwave meals and eating sandwiches.

Pro tip - A cereal box makes a fine paper plate when you don't feel like cleaning, or being wasteful :^D
