Has anyone tried the new Coolmax 480 Watt "FANLESS" power supply ? Your thoughts, please.

I am thinking about using one of these on a new system I am about to build & I wondered if I should try this as opposed to either an Enermax or True Power.

Thanks.

are you THAT worried about noise? thats the main people use them,

I have an Antec True Power 430, thing is so quiet its hard to tell its on

I have a Zalman quiet PSU in my music server and it really is whisper-quiet.

If you get a fanless PSU, you'll just make the back exhaust fan work harder (and possibly PSU and CPU fans too). A PSU with a low-speed 120mm exhaust fan is uusaly the most practical choice for a performance PC (i.e. not some low speed / low power system).

You might check the forums at www.SilentPCReview.com and also see their review link on the front page for the Antec 350watt fanless PSU. (edit, they also have a review of the 300 watt version of the Coolmax, which apparently isn't as cool / efficient as the Antec)
