I thought I read somewhere that Ford is taking the 2014 Mustang in a completely new direction. Ditching the retro styling cues that mucked the line up for the past decade.
If I were you, I would not want the last production year of the retro styling Ford is finally getting away from.
They are doing a body overhaul for 2014. They are not dropping the retro cues 100% though.
OP, is the V8 way out of your price range?

I hope so! I really like the current styling but I'm not a fan of the interior at all.
I'd love to get the V8 but the price difference here in Canada is staggering. The base model V6 starts off at just over $21,000 while the base model V8 starts off almost $39,000. As much as I'd love to get the V8, I simply can't spend almost twice the amount of money on an engine upgrade, for the most part.
I really like the fact that the V6 can get such good performance numbers. If they keep the performance and price the same but restyle it to look a little more modern, then I will jump on this car in an instant.
I think it looks like any other Mustang: an over-priced, under-engineered money dump.

WTF are you guys talking about? The Mustang does look modern/futuristic. Only the general forms are retro, like the grill tilted forward.
They are routinely on Sale here for $17 - $19K for the base model so big discounts on the '12s are already here.
GT's are running $6 - 8K off MSRP as well.
0-60 at 5.9 seconds!
They managed 24.2mpg and drove it hard - glowing review!

Looks great to me.

Yeah. Guess you find a big dealer repair invoice pretty sexy, too. Cuz that's what you'll be looking at a lot when you buy any Ford car.
What? Where are you getting this from?
The internet. My parents. Magazines. Everywhere.
Funny, because I have similar sources that seem to contradict what you're saying.

It's more so the interior styling. It's quite bland, IMO, especially the steering wheel and gauge cluster.
I have 70k on my Focus, only things changed are brake pads, filters, oil, gas, and tires. Has been insanely dependable, and handily beats the official fuel economy numbers.
Ford today is basically nothing like the Ford of the 80s and 90s. Anyone who can't see that isn't paying attention, or is trolling.
