Thoughts, new vid card or new speakers/sound card

Hey all -

First a recap. I'm currently on a POS geforce 4 MX 440. It's bottlenecking my P4 2.4 rig but I do still get great performance on new games such as Halo, Jedi Academy, etc... I also am currently using Onboard sound on my P4PE mobo and some 5 year old Boston Accoustics Digital Media Theater 2.1 speakers. Unfortunately the speakers now hiss at loud volumes and the onboard sound is starting to pop and go out in some of the newer games...

So I need some thoughts from you guys. I had originaly for months now been planning on replacing my vid card with a All In Wonder 9600 Pro. However this card seem to be NEVER comming out unfortunately. OR I can buy a Sound Blaster Audigy 2 OEM and and Logitech Z560 Speaker set. The vid card and the sound card/speakers run about the same price (300 canadian or so). What do you guys think I should do. Hold out for the vid card, or grab the new sound system. Conceivably I could upgrade my video card anytime plus I could wait for the new technology which is comming out all the time to drive the prices down whilst sound technology doens't change all that much. I need some second opinions.

Thanks!

personally I would capture the Soundcard and speakers right now...because this market is generally pretty slow compared to video cards...and then wait till the holiday season for a Videocard purchase.

I live in residence at my uni so my Computer is my entire video/audio system. I play tons of DVDs on it as well as game a lot. I listen to music a lot too... lol. The speakers would be cool cuase i'd finaly have surround but the video card woudl be cool cause i coudl do a few nifty things with my tv (if i get a AIW card)
