Thought I was helping by adding two fans

I was checking temps on my rig that sits in a Antec Solo case. Got two 90mm fans up front, 2 hard drives inside. Hard drive temps have fallen, that's good of course. I just discovered by turning off the front fans, the PWM IC temp FALLS by 5 degrees Celsius.
My guess: Cables deflecting heat off of the drives to the PWM area, or I have a dead zone of air that develops .
I did increase the rear 120mm fan to high, but no effect. Any other ideas? Thanks
