Why don't you just lease something cheap in the short term, and save for the bigger purchase two years down the road? There are plenty of new cars that are perfectly good for commuting that you can lease for less than 200/mo. VW, Hyundai, etc...

^^^ This. I wouldn't settle for some econobox just because you have scheduling issues. Especially buy-here-pay-here special 2years later like the aforementioned Elantra.
 
If the only thing holding you back is two weeks, you can't find a car to drive around until then? Even a rental can be had for $200.

FYI, that car is priced spot on at $23k. They're selling it to you auction price.

I've got a 2010 of that car except also with sport with more miles actually. That's a great price on it. I'd say 26 would he fair and it won't cost that much to beloved patriot the doors. So 23 is a steal. The red color is also pretty rare. Kind of wish I had gotten that color
