Isn't this weird that the government is not allowing business owners the right to choose?

If anyone can justify this, please let me know how...

That is unjustifiable to me. I will boycott whomever I please and the gov't can suck my left nut if they don't like it.

that reminds me of the case when USA tried to punish foreign companies that did business with countries that were boycotted by USA. Most notably Cuba. There are European companies (For example PSA Peugeot-Citroen) doing business with Cuba and USA wanted to punish those companies because of that. Fortunately that plan was quietly dropped.

I can think of an easy example.

During the Clinton years, US companies were allowed to fire satillites into space on Chinese rockets.

And magically after this started, china leaped forward 30 years in missile technology.

Thats a great example of why this is needed. At least for preventing businesses trading with foreign governments.

I could see boycotting countries that are deemed enemies of the state, but can't justify why someone can't refuse to purchase or sell from someone else. Isn't this supposed to be a free enterprise?

I can see your China and that would fall under my "enemy of the state" scenario. How do they make you trade with somebody though?
