those with p4c's with dual channel: what memory do you use and at what speed?

Hi,

I seem to be having a hard time getting my hyperx pc3500 to 217mhz (ddr434) in dual channel. Am I expecting too much from this memory in dual channel config or is it the memory.

Out of curiosity... those with a dual channel config using p4c's- what brand memory are you using to overclock with? at what speed?

And is it possible to overclock 2.4c to 3ghz with dual channel and 5:4?

I'm using Corsair 3500C2... 1GB of it. Running at 217mhz, 1:1 ratio, PAT (Abit's version: Game Enhancer... Street Racer) enabled. I'm running at 3255mhz, off a p4c 3.0ghz. Timings are at a tight 2-3-3-6. Memory bandwidth is 5.25gb\s.

Try loosening your timings to get higher clocks to work, although corsair now says that their 3500 runs at 433mhz w/ 2-3-3-6.

Also, have you considered that you're over Kingston's rating of 433mhz? They really only gaurantee an FSB of 216mhz, not 217mhz.

I've always associated kingston w/ best buy valuememory... so, I dunno. Also, I haven't messed around with 5:4, as I don't want to lose the PAT. I'm considering upgrading the ram in this PC to PC4000 when I build a 2.4 system for work, then just take this 3500 and put it in there.

I'm using a IS7... the 865p (which is just a step down from you) . What is this Street Racer thing you are talking about? Is it the GAT bios thing for bios13? I didn't know you'd lose the PAT or GAT if you used a divider...

Hrm ... more info please

Yeah, Pat doesn't work if you break from 1:1. And PAT is about a 5-10% performance so.... keep that in mind.

I've a P4C 2.4Ghz with 2x512 sticks of PC3200 running with the auto settings. I have not bothered over clocking at all yet. This is the fastest system I have ever owned. 🙂

Keep in mind that for most people, the computer they have now is the fastest computer they've ever owned... That's a really stupid thing to say. I mean, unless they downgrade for some reason...
