I had about 100 Mbps from my previous ISP (about 17 Mb/s download, around 7 or 8 Mb/s upload). Got better deals recently from a competitor, but it's slower for now at 50 Mbps (about 7 Mb/s download, maybe 5 or 6 Mb/s upload). However, I'll get an upgrade to a soon-to-be-implemented 100 Mbps service from them in my sector of the city for free (part of the deal). Those ISPs do offer much better services but they're overkill for me, and of course overpriced.
As for Steam, it's pretty much always downloading using my top speeds unless I manually set a download speed limit.
