Those with external modems.

Do you guys turn off your modems when you aren't using them? Whether it's a DSL modem, Cable modem, or 56k modem? Any reason to turn them off or not to? TIA.

My Puter is set to turn on by Ring, remotely in the BIOS so that I may call it on. If do not want this funtion/feature then I just flip the EX Modem off as it's easier then reseting it on and off in the BIOS.

my USR ext. 56k is always on. I have no reason to turn it off, as it's just about always connected...even if it wasn't, I doubt I would. Using 2k at the moment, but in XP at least, if I shut it off and turned it back on, I'd often have to reboot as it'd have trouble using it. weird.
