I have had COX cable now since April and never had any problems until recently.
I get disconnected for a minute a few times a day now and I think it stinks that they are capping even if I never even come close to 2 Gb/day.

Who the fsck need to download that much anyway.

I have cox(zipcode 92630) and I don't really like it..fast download speeds most of the time, but very bad upload speeds, occasional downtimes(once or twice a week) and occasical slow times(few times a day) bad packet loss, bad ping in games, ping spikes..etc..it isn't very reliable, but when it is, it's only good for fast browsing or downloads.

oops..i've been looking into dsl, but I don't know if I want to pay $10 more bucks a month for slower downloads(but faster games, probably more uptime, etc)

here's a speed test I just ran at dslreports..sometimes it's good, sometimes it's slow..it's always spikey

I have Cox cable internet, but I don't have Cox cable TV.

The service isn't too bad, every once in a while the modem disconnects, but this doesn't happen near as often after they came out to replace a faulty line.
I'm pleased with the connection speed, I get between 2200 and 3200 kbps down and between 250 and 300 up.

I had Cox cable internet when I was a student living off-campus. It was fine for the first 2-3 months. After a while, the service got really bad. We had to call them so often that all my roommates and I know their support line phone number by heart. We got so frustrated that the last 2 months at our apartment, we went back to dialup until we move to a new place and get DSL instead.
