Those with a Nexus 5X - how's the camera app?

I heard complaints about it months ago. Thinking of picking one up for my wife but she uses the her phone as her primary camera. If there's issues, I'll never hear the end of it.

I'm not a big fan of the camera on my Nexus 5x, but then again, I use my dslr for any meaningful pics.

I'd wait until the next version of the Nexus 5x come out next month.

What would bother her about it? It's a competent all-around shooter with very little frills. Only weakness is that you need to leave it on auto-HDR and it's not the fastest camera.

She has a Moto G. The phone's been slowing down over the past few months. Overall the 5X is going to be way above what she's used to. But she won't like a delay when trying to take a picture, that's her main complaint currently.

I've heard way too many complains about the 5x to consider one. Battery life, performance, storage, screen etc...

I've been wondering if the 5x got any better with the Nougat update. Anyone here have any feedback on this?
