I'm upgrading from a Core i7-920 on an Asus P6T with 2x2GB to a Core i7-2600K on an Asus P8P67 with 2x4GB. UPS says my i7-2600K arrived today, and the rest of the stuff arrives on Wed.

Upgraded from a 775 Q6600. I figured that all the 775 owners that have been sitting on their hands during all the i7 920 action would finally bust out for this Sandybridge party. It's still not that compelling to go from a Quad core to a Quad core but geeesh I could only sit on my hands for so long! I kind of feel like the SB is just an enhanced/fine tuned i7 920, still 4 cores and 8 threads but it works for me!!

Count me as another 775 owner who sat on his hands during the entire 1366/1156 generations. I upgraded to an i5-2500K from an E6600. I built that E6600 rig in Feb of 2006 (I think, it was a long time ago...) and I had waited long enough.

I'm 80% sure I'll be making the jump too. I think my DFI Mem slots were defective from the factory and I didn't know it, cause I can't OC past 3.2 testing on Linpack or memtest. Plus I'm probably going to an SSD, and not sure SATA I is fast enough.

you should have put an option for "no need to upgrade" & "waiting to see what bulldozer will offer".
He did. It is in the thread title. The vote is only for those who did buy and want to vote. ;)

I could say that I did finally carry out a case with a i486DX-25 in it (Socket 1?) a couple months ago, and that I now have ordered something. However, that old case had not seen power for years. So an Intel 4-series chipset got replaced by Zero. But that 4-series will happily take over from a 939, for a second time. :whiste:

I think my Q9650 still has enough gas to get to me where I'm going...for now. Only upgrade coming really soon is a vid card.
