Those who bought a BFG 7800 GTX

I just got my card and I must say the included software is rather sad:

driver disk w/ nvdvd
'gamer's toolkit'
video studio 9

That's it.

You'd think their motto being "The Gamer's Choice" BFG could actually include some, you know, games?

Any opinions?

More than enough. I bought it for it's lifetime warranty. (Back then, eVGA didn't have lifetime)

I can't say I've been completely satisfied with BFG's customer service.

They never responded to my emails about my old 6800gt over heating.

the best way to get thru to BFG is by phone

Of course I find this out after after I drop $550 on a new card.

Anyways back on topic: BFG's bundled software - yay or nay?

It's the card that matters the most... Not the extras..

I was just expecting more after reading online reviews about the card.

Oh well.

I bought a Club3D one and it came with Colin Mcrae Rally 2005.

Im addicted to it!

Personally, i hate bundled software.

I don't think i've ever installed anything from any of my video cards.

Don't need it.

Now if an actually good game was included, that'd be different.

Bundled software only inflates the price of the card, give me what I paid for (the card) and I'll buy my own games that I'll actually play.

Funny thing is i got CMR 2005 with my bundle and it happens to be the cheapest 7800GTX out of the whole range of vendors!

This is in the UK tho.

Really? Did the reviews say you got other games? Did the vendor you bought it from say you got other games?

I sort of doubt it. For whatever reason, you're apparently experiencing some sort of weird buyer's remorse wherein you think you should have got more than was advertised.

Actually, yes they did. Every Review I've see had a dvd of farcry bundled with the card.

And yes I have a case of buyer's remorse.

FarCry will come on 5 CDs, not a DVD and if you didn't get it stop whining to us and CALL BFG. They will send it out to you without much of a hassle, if any at all.

On the front of the box, BFGTech lists some of the main selling points with this video card, which includes free software such as GameDrive 9.0 and some free goodies like a T-Shirt and Teflon Mouse Pads.

No mention of Far Cry?

This one does say you get Far Cry.

In any case, for pete's sake, Far Cry is pretty cheap now. You've got the best gaming card in the world. I don't think BFG took you to the cleaners.

I do. For less than what the BFG cost, I got the LeadTek version. More games, a company that I've used before and solid support.

As for the lifetime warranty. Great, when your card breaks in 50 years, you can get a replacement.
