Those VIA & SB Live! problems?

I'm about to upgrade (well, replace everything but the HD and the CD) my system, and was considering the ASUS A7V133 motherboard together with an Athlon T-Bird 1200 266 and a Soundblaster Live! Player card until I heard of massive problem with this setup. Apparently there is significant trouble with combing VIA chipsets & SB Live cards. But then I hear people who have no trouble at all with this combination, what's the deal? Anyone had these problems?

Just update to the Via 4.32 version 4-in-1 drivers for your A7V133's Via KT133a chipset and also flash your BIOS with 1005a June 6, 2001 BIOS and you will be stable as a rock. These are the fixes for that dreaded problem.

Your truly has a A7V133 mobo and a SBLive! Platinum 5.1 and I would need a sledgehammer to crash it. Windows 2K Pro system.
