I got in with the launch PS4 from Amazon. I'm still undecided on games for it. I might hold out on Last of Us and play that on the PS4 since I won't have much time for gaming in the next several months. Watch Dogs is another possibility, but I may hold out for the PC version.

I got the launch edition but Ill wait till I get more info before preordering games, but I have my eyes on: MGS5 and MGS Collection (even though I have every original game), Killzone, Knack, FF15, Infamous, and possibly The order.

Is the new mgs going to be released at launch? I was cracking up when snake was riding the horse and he does that thing where he's hiding on it's side.

That was, in fact, a pretty hilarious scene. "Hey, Bob, why is that awesome loaded-down horse just running around?" "Dunno, Stan, guess it has somewhere to go."

Anyways, launch-window-console-exclusives-wise, these are really the only games I found interesting:
1. Dead Rising 3
2. Titanfall
3. Killer Instinct
4. KZ:SF

In terms of non-exclusives at launch, it's pretty much just Watch Dogs. There's a bunch of stuff coming out in 2014 that I think will be amazing, though.

I'm not pre-ordering ANY games without some more in-depth and honest previews, though. After what happened with White Knight Chronicles, I am always going to be skeptical of the new flashiness...

I preordered a PS4, but that was honestly mostly symbollic. With the current gen's hardware issues I don't know if I'll actually keep the preorder or cancel beforehand. If I do keep it I'm like Watch Dogs and Infamous.

Ugh can't get the Kingdom Hearts theme out of my head. Esp the slowed down sad piano version during a slow mo scene with Sora and a special key...

If I recall its one of the saddest scenes in Kingdom Hearts.

What hardware issues did you have? My original fat ps3 I bought at launch, I gave to my brother and it still was chugging along until he dropped it down a set of stairs. I currently have a slim that is still going too.

yeah my ps3 fatty is going strong still, original 60gb with bc. been using it as a primary bluray player as well as gaming on it and never had an issue with it. although, that thing puts out a shitton of heat lol.

Of course it puts out heat, its more powerful than 1000 supercomputers after all...

even for blurays though it puts out a ton of heat. that is what surprised me the most. when i got my dedicated bluray player a month or so ago, that was the first thing i noticed after watching my first movie - how cooler the a/v closet was when i went to turn my amp off after watching the movie.

Yea it definitely is but it obviously does much more. Even going from a fat to a slim makes a huge difference.

I personally didn't have any because I didn't get one till late in the game. Two early adopting friends did though. One of which was the YLOD (or whatever it was called) and another was just a failed HDD which isn't really a console issue but it still sucked. I was more speaking in generalities about early consoles in general. I got a pretty early PS2 which had laser problems after a few years and wouldn't read games all the time.

Future Shop had a deal (Expired yesterday) on Pre-ordering Games in Canada... buy 3 games, take $60 off your order. (basically buy 2 get 1 free)

I pre-ordered Watch Dogs, Battlefield 4 and UFC

Hmm if they had something like that around here then I wouldn't mind pre ordering some games especially if it's a new system.

I'm probably going to pre-order the PS4 late summer, early fall. Don't want to drop $400 bones on something I can't get my mitts on until November. I'm waiting to see what games will be launch titles.

I've kept all systems since NES. In fact I have multiples of many.

Currently have 2 NES, 3 SNES, Genesis 3, Genesis 2+Sega CD 2, Genesis 1 + Sega CD 1, ah hell I'm not typing everything...

I will still play PS1,2,3 games in their native systems. After running into glitches with FF7 and Xenogears on a PS2 I stopped caring about backward compatibility and emulation.

hmm,you said,you don't like FF7 ??

hahaha, tbh i hope square learn their lesson, and not too focused on graphic, and instead. pour that money to good plot and story.

just hope they will release new front mission, chrono trigger games,or atleast make proper final fantasy game (don't care about the battle system, just need epic story)

I don't hate it but it isnt the best one and its extremely overrated.

I did dig it out a year ago and do a perfect save file run.

Final Fantasy 4 and Xenogears are probably my favorite games of all time and I don't see them being topped in my lifetime. Sad sad outlook in life having such high standards...sigh...

It's been so long since I played kh 2. I wish kh3 would have launched with the system. Despite all the Disney stuff the story was great, definitely will pick it up.

Never tried any final fantasy game but the one they have coming out looks appealing to me.

Don't do this. Order it now on Amazon. You pay nothing now and can cancel later if you want. It is a free reservation/spot in line. If you don't want it, cancel before shipping.

I preordered the PS4 two days ago and did not make it in time for launch edition. Today I get this email:

Dear Amazon.com Customer,

Thank you for pre-ordering the PlayStation 4.

We are writing to inform you that we received additional PlayStation 4 "Launch Day Edition" consoles and have upgraded your order from the "Standard Edition." We've also upgraded your shipping speed to free Release-Day Delivery at no cost to you. This means you'll receive your order the day the console is released (the two editions are identical other than the release-day promise).

You do not need to take any action or make any changes to your current order. Thank you again for your order.

Pre-order console now, get console, see outrageous demand, sell for several hundred dollars more. Just don't get shot while doing it. Worse case scenario you have to ship one back and you're out maybe $12?

Now I wouldn't recommend pre-ordering two and trying to make some profit, because you're time is worth more than that. Plus, you should never buy something you don't intend on using.

You should be able to sell on craigslist in your area for probably 100-150 profit depending how in demand they are. Down side is you will need to wait to get another if you want one and stores are sold out.

Lol. The laugh is it's already too late. BestBuy, Gamestop, and Amazon have all stopped taking pre-orders for the PS4. For now anyway. I can still get an Xbone though. Yay?

I didn't realize you didn't pay until it shipped. Never really done the pre-order thing before. I signed up for email notification when it becomes available again.

At least in my experiences, most online retailers will not charge you until the item ships. Sometimes they'll put a $1 hold on your card or something like that, but in my experience, larger sites such as Amazon and Newegg don't do that.

If I remember correctly, Sony stated that they may delay the release in some regions to help fulfill heavy demand in the more popular regions. If that's the case, more of them may become available in the coming months. That's also probably why some people were upgraded to the Launch Edition.
