Those that own a NEC 8X DVD+RW/-RW Drive, Model ND-2500A

have you been able to burn @ 8x on the - type of media and if so what media did you use? i can only get 4x on sony and ritek.

I got it to work with MCC stuff; TDK uses Ritek a lot and those generally burn well.

Apparantly it is easier to do the same for + with this drive. Verbatim's work well with the +.

Haven't yet tried doing the same to the - media. I'm using 4x - media, IMO the extra £££ for 8x is not worth it, well that's the case in the UK at least. I do enjoy, however, being able to burn DVD+RW at 4x, which I tend to do a lot more of.

I have some new disks coming some time this week.

I will let you know what kind of burn speed I get with them.

My cousin reported burning -R at 8x with Memorex 4x DVD-R we got from Staples last month.

i will have to give memorex a try again as my old pioneer burner hated it. thanks 🙂
