how did you find your job

Most job searches online have very limited jobs with evening shift and consulting agencies as well. Share your tips please

I walked into Papa John's, asked if they were hiring, and I was hired on the spot! :)

I didn't know it was 2nd shift either, found out at the interview.
But most of the time they do say which shift the position is for.
Good luck to you on your search!;)
What kind of job are you searching for?

Well OK then,

A friend of mine suggested that I deliver pizzas where he works, so I asked for a job, and got it. :)

You?ve got to be in a good area though or it?s not worth the hell you put your car through (best to have a cheap old Corolla or something similar anyway). You should apply at a well established place in an area of the city (the high population density in the city is fairly important) with just a bit of yuppie appeal, and you can do very well, especially if you?ve got a good personality and like to drive (and learn the area).

It?s just a suggestion. It?s what I do for now. It?s a good, incredibly easy evening job. The $15 ?18 includes about $5.25/hr (minimum) wage plus tips, of course. Sometimes I make a little less, but sometimes I make well over $20/hr.

yea agreed with Garfang...if you got a crappy car that can handle it and you don't mind some stop and go quick driving, pizza delivery can be pretty funy. i worked at a Round Table over the summer of my high school senior year and altho there was competion from Domino's and Pizza Hut in literally the same shopping center, we had buttloads of business every night. Tips are pretty generous and dont fully count as taxable income :p

keep pizzas in the trunk tho, i learned that from a fellow delivery driver

I've been thinking about doing some pizza delivery this spring/summer. I know the area really well, and could probably make $15+ doing something I love to do. Listening to music and driving around! :D I had a speeding ticket a couple months back. Is there any possibility of my still getting the job?

I am assuming that if you are searching for jobs online then you are looking for a professional job, not a Pizza delivery boy job (not that there is anything wrong with that). If you are looking for a second shift job, and you want a technical job, then the Key word you want is "Operations", Or "Operator". Most companies have three shifts first 7am-3pm, second 3pm-11pm, and third 11pm-8am (times vary). It all depends on what you are looking for. I personaly work in Operations for a large multinational publishing company, i stumbled upon this oportnity. yet I am not neccessarily happy due to the fact that the department is 24x7 and I have a Saturday night shift. But the good side is I work four days a weeks. So I get three days off! Some companies offer three day weeks with four days off! and there are some companies that are mon-fri. It all depends on the company. Hope that is what you are looking for.

My job is titled "Computer Operator". I always thought that title sounded dumb:) I work in a medium sized hospital in the computer room working the 2nd shift (3-11) on weekends. My duties are to answer the help desk line, do some scheduled backups on the servers, run various reports, and generally make sure everything is running smoothly. In reality I have a lot of free time, which is spent surfing the net, which I am doing now. Oh and to answer your question, I just answered an ad in the paper.
