my oakley minute lenses are making me mad because they seem to have these streaks on them that i just cant get rid of. if i wipe the lenses with the microfiber bag, all it does it change the direction of the streaks. they dont impact the function or optics of the lens but its so annoying to notice them. they show up real noticbly on the reflective iridium lenses (ruby) and im scared to use any solution to clean them. oakley says to ONLY use the bag and a very mild soap at most, but even rubbing a small amount of dove hand soap on it doesnt get rid of these streaks.

i have a pair of half jackets with vr28 lens and i dont seem to see any streaks on them. but then again they are far less "reflective" so it may be just that i cant see them.

what do you guys use for sunglasses?

i was thinking maybe something like this would work

heh, my post won't be of any help to you, but I never get any coating, etc, extras, blahs on my glasses because i'd be worried sick that they'll peel/wear off. I just use warm water and soap to clean my glasses.

Sams (similar to costco) sells cleaning solution rather cheap and it works fine on my Oakley Juliets.

i actually did this a lot wit hmy old bolle asps and it worked marvelously. not a spot on the lens and shiny as heck- thats until someone scared my by telling me you should never use windex on sunglasses. because it contains ammonia or soemthing that can dissolve the UV coating. not sure about that though.

i will probably clean the bad and try again. i have two bags, and both seem to yield similar results but its worth a shot. otherwise i guess ill go pick up some lens cleaning solution tomorrow. i just dont want to do anything that will damage the lenses.

To wash my glasse i've always used liquid soap and warm water. Works like an absolute charm.

Isn't Dove like 25% hand lotion? That might explain the difficulty in getting rid of streaks... :)
